Greece Notes- Megaliths

• Megaliths are big stone monuments to people who died in Greece.
• Megaliths came all over Europe in around 3000 BC, where people started burying their dead.
• Menhirs are large upright standing stones.
• Stonegehenge is in Southern England and is made up of large megaliths. The upright pieces are plinths and the horizontal pieces are lintels.
• we don't know what purpose this monument was meant to serve, it may be some kind of ritual site.
• It was created in the prehistoric era, the era before the writing of history.
• For history from this time, we just have to go on what is left, because nothing was recorded.
