Do People have an Innate Instinct to be Free?

Humans have an innate instinct to be free. Every human has their own unique, creative mind, so they cannot stand to be confined by someone else. A person needs to be able to make their own choices and have their own opportunities, and that is something that a person knows inside. Many people in history have tried to own humans or to confine them, but they have eventually fought and fought to become free. For example, in medieval times, the wealthy land owners had many serfs, or slaves. They owned them, made them do all of their work, and treated them very unfairly. On slave owner allowed two of his serfs to be married, and gave an oath that he would never separate them, but then he did something else. He twisted the words around, and he did the following: "And when the cover had been placed upon the trunk he filled the grave and buried them both alive, saying, "I have not broken my oath and I have not separated them."(Gregory of Tours). Today, the slavery that occurred in the medieval times and in later eras are over, as these people have fought to earn their sense of freedom. Freedom is simply a right that all people need to be granted.
