I agree that we should not contact extra terrestrial life. We have no idea what is out there; space is the unknown. Also, there are so many extremely diverse organisms on earth, that we could probably not even begin to imagine what life may be like elsewhere. They could be watching us, watching everything we do. Humans think that we are smart, but we may not even to compare to what extra terrestrial beings may know. I liked the comparison of aliens to pilgrims, and that if they came to explore the Earth, we would be mistreated, just like the Native Americans were. It is very possible that they could bring us a lot of knowledge, but it is better to be safe then sorry.
